NORTHUMBERLAND, Pa. — Zartman Construction celebrated the launch of a new division, Bear Rental, with a ribbon cutting on the morning of May 19th. Bear Rental is a new tool and equipment rental store specializing in items that homeowners need.

Zartman Construction has a long history of equipment rental, beginning in 1975 with the purchase of their first crane. Small contractors and home builders have been staple clients for the rental business. Bear Rental is building on that history and also catering to homeowners and DIY-ers as well as residential and light commercial contractors. Lawn and garden equipment, along with light commercial tools, have been added to Zartman’s vast construction equipment inventory.

“A purposeful investment of about $250,000 just for retail rental equipment” was made this year, explained David Zartman, President of Zartman Construction, during Saturday’s event.

The existing “tool room” at Zartman Construction was expanded to include a showroom. An additional 10,000 square feet of equipment and tools is housed in the adjoining warehouse space.

“The beauty of all of this is it comes from a family that is well-known in the community, with a team that has a great reputation and people trust,” said Rep. Lynda Schlegel- Culver during the ceremony. “A project that would have been out of reach for somebody or too costly is now something they can achieve and is more affordable.”

The store, located inside the Zartman Construction building, stocks a vast inventory of tools and equipment for any project, including air equipment, concrete tools, masonry tools, construction tools, flooring tools, generators, welders, heaters, ladders, lawn and garden equipment, personnel lifts, lighting, loaders and earth equipment, plumbing tools, pressure washers, and saws.
